How we handle your information.

Who we are

Silvermere Consulting Limited is the controller of the personal data described here. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 09767145, with our registered office at 45 Chase Court Gardens, Enfield, England, EN2 8DJ.

For anything about your data, write to privacy@silvermereconsulting.co.uk.

What this notice covers

This notice covers this website and any email you send us. Each app we publish has its own privacy notice, linked from that app's store listing and website. For anything that happens inside an app, the app's own notice applies.

When you visit this website

This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. The fonts and images are served from this site.

Like any website, it can't be delivered without your browser telling the server where to send it. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, receives your IP address and the standard details of each request (the page asked for, the time, and your browser type). Hostinger uses these to deliver the page and to keep the server secure. We don't use them to identify you. The server is in the United Kingdom.

Visitor statistics

We count visits with Umami, an analytics tool we run on our own server. It tells us which pages are read and roughly how many people read them. For each page view it records the page, the site you came from, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language, and an approximate location (country, region and city) worked out from your IP address. It does not store your IP address, it uses no cookies, and nothing it keeps identifies you.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, no statistics are recorded for your visit. Blocking scripts from umami.silvermere.tech has the same effect, and the site works normally either way.

The statistics travel through Cloudflare, which protects and delivers our analytics server and sees your IP address while doing so. The analytics server itself runs on hardware we rent from OVHcloud in Singapore.

When you email us

We receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use it to reply to you and to deal with what you've asked about. Our email is hosted by MXroute on servers in Germany.

Our legal basis

We rely on our legitimate interests in running a secure website, in understanding how it's used, and in answering people who contact us. Where your email is about a contract you have with us, or one you're asking us to enter into, we process it to perform that contract.

How long we keep it

We keep email for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and anything that follows from it, including records we're required by law to keep. After that we delete it. We keep visitor statistics for as long as they help us understand how the site is used. Hostinger keeps its server logs under its own retention practice, described in its privacy policy.

Who else sees it

Only the providers named above, acting for us: Hostinger for the website, Cloudflare and OVHcloud for visitor statistics, and MXroute for email. We don't sell personal data, we don't share it for marketing, and we don't add anyone to a mailing list. We'll disclose information only where the law requires it.

Where it's processed

The website is served from the United Kingdom. Email is stored in Germany, which is in the European Economic Area. UK data protection law recognises the EEA as giving an adequate level of protection, so no further safeguards are needed for that transfer.

Cloudflare operates a global network, so it may handle your request outside the UK. Our agreement with Cloudflare includes the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum, which protects that transfer.

Our analytics server is in Singapore, which isn't on the UK's list of countries with adequate protection. We keep what reaches it to a minimum: it uses your IP address only to work out an approximate location, doesn't store it, and keeps nothing that identifies you.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or restrict how we use it. You can also object to how we use it. Where it applies, you can ask for your data in a portable format. Write to privacy@silvermereconsulting.co.uk and we'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
